With the aim of giving a second life to plastic waste and rethinking our way of consuming, Le Temps des Grenouilles has designed clothing and equipment for cyclists made from recycled fabric.
But how does recycling work?
We explain to you!
A recycled garment is nothing more and nothing less than a garment that has been made from a material that has already been used.
Here is the transformation process of recycled polyester, the main element of our raincoats.
1st stage: Mainly from the recycling of used bottles, the fabric is recovered, crushed and returned to fiber state.
2nd step: These fibers are then twisted to obtain a thread.
3rd step: The manufacturing process continues as for a traditional thread, and this fabric is then used in particular for the manufacturing of our rain capes.
It should be noted that the higher the share of recycled polyester in the industry, the more beneficial the effect on the protection and respect of the environment. Indeed, increasing the share of recycled polyester mechanically leads to a reduction in the consumption of new polyester.
A real gesture for the planet, the production of recycled polyester limits greenhouse gas emissions and saves up to 60% of energy.
Recycled, but also recyclable, the recycled polyester used to make our raincoats is part of a green and eco-responsible approach.
Giving a second life to what already exists, limiting our impact on the planet, and promoting green mobility, that’s our challenge!
